My Tiny Home is Featured in the Summer Issue of Where Women Create!

A 13 page spread in Where Women Create, this photo was taken at Trona Pinnacles, CA

A quick little preview of my feature in the Where Women Create magazine and it's just so amazing! You can see the article online but I HIGHLY recommend getting the actual magazine as it is so well done! The whole magazine is just a beautiful exploration into so many varied women creatives and their studio spaces. And the internet just doesn't do the pages justice the way the actual magazine does, find the Summer issue at your local places that sell magazines or order an issue/subscription online, you will not be disappointed!

The feature is all about my journey of becoming an artist and how it has now led to me living the life of a traveling artist in my self converted tiny home on wheels.  Here's a little excerpt from the article:

"Art has always been a part of who I am, from the time I was a child in the wilds of Alaska, sketching a lone barren tree soaring above the towering green swath of forest that stretched as far as the eye could see. Whether I was coloring in Dover coloring books, making paper dolls or illustrating stories my sister would write, I was always creating.  It was a lonely existence, since my four siblings, parents and I lived off-grid in a floating house away from the nearest little fishing village, Meyers Chuck. But when I was creating, I never felt alone; I would immerse myself in the art. From drawing mermaids and their treasures under the sea to painting hidden fairy houses, I always had a fantasy world of my own making to live in. Perhaps this is why to this day I still love everything fantasy and wild, and my art is very much a world of my own, even when inspired by actual places … hence, why I call it MAD Wonderland."

I have since redecorated the entirety of the inside of the van, inspired by Ghibli Studios animated film Arietty - stay tuned for updated photos!
